PI of AIS2Lab

Prof. Daoyuan Wu is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Data Science, Lingnan University, where he leads the AIS2Lab (Artificial Intelligence and Systems Security Lab).

Prior to joining Lingnan, Dr. Wu was a Research Assistant Professor (RAP) at HKUST CSE for one year, a Senior Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University for one year, and a Senior Researcher at Huawei HKRC for six months. Before that, he spent three years as a fully independent RAP in the Department of Information Engineering (IE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUHK IE for one year, from 2022 to 2023.

Prof. Wu has published 30+ CCF-A conf papers and 8 CCF-A journal articles, including 13 big-four security conf papers, 16 top-tier SE/PL conf papers, and a Distinguished Paper Award at NDSS 2025. He has served as a regular TPC member at top-tier security and AI/SE conferences, as well as a Youth Editorial Board Member at the Cybersecurity journal. He has been the PI for the Stellar Academic Research Award, the CCF-Huawei Populus Grove Fund for Systems, and several UGC Teaching and Learning Funds.

Incoming Postdoc

Dr. Cuifeng Gao is graduating with a Ph.D. from the University of Science and Technology of China, a member of China’s C9 League. She received her bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Normal University. She is expected to join AIS2Lab as a postdoctoral scholar in mid-May 2026 and has been collaborating remotely since August 2025.

She has published in TOSEM 2024, TOSEM 2025, ASE 2024, EMNLP 2025 Findings, and QRS 2025. She is a key contributor to the Stellar project.

Her research focus is on LLMs for verification and Web3 Fintech security.

Incoming PhD Student

Yufan Chen has been collaborating with the PI since he was an undergraduate student. He has been a Research Assistant at AIS2Lab since February 2025. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Xidian University in 2023. He will be admitted as a PhD student at Lingnan since September 2026, supported by a four-year PhD scholarship.

He has published in ISSTA 2023 and EuroS&P 2024.

His research focus is on LLM agent security.

Incoming PhD Student

Ruoxuan Cao will receive her MSc degree from Cornell University in May 2026. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in 2025. She is expected to join AIS2Lab as a PhD student in Fall 2026, depending on the clearing round. During the transition period from May to Aug 2026, she will be supported by an open fund as a Remote Intern.

She has published as a first author in a CHI workshop.

Her research focuses on agent world model and coding agent security.

Research Assistant

Juantao Zhong has been a research assistant at AIS2Lab since August 2024 and will continue until the end of July 2026. He obtained his MSc degree from Nanyang Technological University in 2024 and his Bachelor’s degree from South China University of Technology in 2022. He was selected by Lingnan as the top candidate to compete for the RGC HKPFS 2026/27.

He has published as first author in ASE 2025 and has assisted the PI with multiple grant proposals. He is a key contributor to the HKUST TLIP project.

His research focus is on LLMs for cybersecurity, LLM compliance, and blockchain security.

Research Assistant

Wenxin Luo has been a Research Assistant at AIS2Lab since September 2025, co-supervised with Prof. Ning Liu from CityU. She obtained her MSc degree from City University of Hong Kong in 2025 and her Bachelor’s degree from Beijing University of Technology in 2023.

She has published as first author in ICASSP 2025.

Her research focus is on jailbreaking and AI safety, including multimodal models.

Remote Visiting Postdoc

Dr. Jiahuai Mao is currently a postdoc supervised by Prof. AU Man Ho Allen at PolyU. He has collaborated with the AIS2Lab as a no-pay remote visiting postdoc since March 2026. He received his Ph.D. from East China Normal University in 2025.

He has published as first author in TDSC 2025 and TSC 2024.

His research lies at the intersection of security, privacy, and machine learning.

Remote Intern

Yixuan Yang has been a part-time Remote Intern at AIS2Lab from Jun 2025 to Aug 2026, supported by an open fund. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 2024. He is currently pursuing his MSc degree at the University of Twente and EURECOM.

He has published in Computers & Security 2025 and finished an MCP paper conducted at AIS2Lab.

His research focus is on MCP security and LLM for fuzzing.

Remote Intern

Haoyuan Li has been a part-time Remote Intern at AIS2Lab since October 2025, supported by an open fund. He is currently a final-year undergraduate student at Xiamen University Malaysia. He will pursue his Master’s degree at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in September 2026.

He is a key contributor to the CCF-Huawei project.

His research focus is on (intelligent) program analysis.
